Charles Coit Williams
“I’ve always been drawn to the transitional light of dawn and dusk. That liminal state creates a kind of enchantment with the world and captures fleeting moments of mystery, longing, and hope.
I paint the land around me - whether living in rural New York and taking inspiration from the Hudson River area or taking in the vast plains of Ohio, my work always begins with the land. Painting has been a passion throughout my time working as a builder, maker, and antiques collector. I’ve been awarded several regional shows in the Hudson Valley and my art is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Director, Thomas Campbell. I’m inspired by the ways that viewers connect with the emotion in my work.
