“I draw inspiration for my landscape paintings from the skies and open fields of Ohio, and the places my husband and I have traveled to. I can’t help but look up and observe the clouds that have fascinated me since I was a child. I tend to use oil paint for landscapes because I can better achieve the softness and blending of clouds and forms in the distance.

My abstract paintings are an exploration of different mediums, colors and textures. What I learn in abstract painting often informs my landscapes. No matter the subject, I like to leave my paintings a little undone, revealing some of the underpainting and stray brushstrokes. My interest in architecture and interior design is always in the back of my mind. I think about how the color palettes I choose will harmonize with the style, furniture, and colors of the spaces where my art might land. I create pieces that are meant to add visual interest and personal expression to interior spaces.”
