ABSTRACT PAINTER
Elizabeth Beattie
I am self taught artist that loves to learn all things creative. Alcohol inks have really captured my attention with the way they play with each other, lend themselves to abstract goodness and create surprises with each painting I make. I will never tire of watching what appears each time I touch ink to paper.
I grew up with a father who was an art professor and a mother who was a crafter so I had no shortage of at home inspiration on top of my school art classes. I often say to people that I have creative ADHD because I love to learn all kinds of arts, mediums and techniques. To date I have taught myself sewing, crocheting, knitting, spinning yarn, weaving, stained glass, jewelry design, metal smithing, photography, floral design, multi media collage, cyanotype, encaustic and alcohol ink (my current medium). My first love in the visual arts was photography and Ansel Adams. I am obsessed with landscapes which informs most of the work I share currently.
