Becca Lynn

“I am interested in how relationships form identity. How we are far less solid than we think we are, much more malleable, ever-changing, much leakier. Our place in relation to time, place, objects, and other people has far more to do with our identity than some mythic personality.

There are formal concerns within the palate that reflect this question of relationship. Some of the colors would be called the same color outside of the context of the work itself; that is to say, they act differently only because of their relationship. This color acts more red, where this color acts more blue, while seen apart in different rooms, most of us would call it purple.”
